Check if your DNS numbers are obsolete!

Most of you have dynamic DNS numbers which are automatically up to date each time you connect to the Internet so most of you can ignore this tip.

If you are a MAC user, a DSL user, an NT user, a business customer, or have a Windows PC and have at any time hard coded your DNS numbers, then those numbers may be obsolete causing some delays when you open new websites.

The obsolete DNS numbers are 204.148.80.1 (primary dns) and
204.147.80.5 (secondary dns).
The correct current DNS numbers are 207.225.145.55 (primary dns) and  207.225.145.251 (secondary dns).

On a MAC go to http://www.usfamily.net/mac.html and check your "Name server Addresses" and update them if necessary.

On a Windows PC:
connect to the internet
click start
click run
type
WINIPCFG
click OK
click "More Info >>" button
check if your "DNS servers" (second field from the top)
are the old numbers and call support 651-697-0523 if they are (or update them if you don't need help.)

DNS or "Domain name service" is the Internet service that changes Internet names to Internet addresses. Our DNS numbers have changed for increased performance and while the old numbers still work it is best to stop using them as they are often noticeably slower, sometimes with long delays. DNS can be accessed as many as 20 times on a single web page so it is worth using the fastest numbers.
