USFamily.Net adds free Spam Filter

After an extended period of development, integration, monitoring, and testing USFamily.Net has turned on it's exclusive new Spam Filtering system.   "Spam" is the term for unsolicited commercial email.  The problem of Spam has grown exponentially in the past months and our new protection program should eliminate a large percentage of this nuisance from known spamming sites.  As always if you receive any Spam you may report it to abuse@usfamily.net (you must include all email headers) . We report all abuse to the originating ISP, and we use the info to refine our filtering.

USFamily.Net Spam Filter Features:

  • Free and automatic to all USFamily.Net Users

  • While the Spam Filter has been activated for everyone, anyone can turn the Spam Filter On or Off as desired at http://www.usfamily.net/usr-spamfilter.html

  • You can view your mailbox including all Spam from the last 30 days at http://www.usfamily.net/cgi-bin/spamview.cgi

  • Any rare legitimate email sender who may be inadvertently screened by the Spam Filter is notified immediately  and automatically by return email and instructed how to contact
us regarding the block. We respond personally to these
    inquiries..

  • For more technical information on the Spam Filter operation go to http://www.usfamily.net/spamfilter.html

Everyone!
Please Remove the Backup Dialer Number!!

For the best performance please remove the backup dialer number from your USFamily.Net Dialer.

  • Click on the USFamily.Net Rocket Ship Icon

  • (click cancel if you have automatic dialing checked)

  • Click the "Settings" or "Properties" button at the bottom of the connection manager screen

  • Remove 651-628-8803 from the backup number

  • Click OK

This will stop many users from using the backup modem pool when their modem happens to fail to connect on the 1st try.   Because the backup modem pools are now so small and heavily used by extremely low priority users, heavier or normal users that accidentally end up on the backup modem pools are sometimes almost immediately interrupted and have to wait up to 30 minutes to reconnect.  So act now to avoid this unnecessary irritation.

Lock in $7.99 for 6 more months today!

To give a break and lessen the impact or our rate increase to our loyal existing customers, rate increases to existing customers will not take effect on any renewals until March 1, 2001.  Any user wishing to lock in their $7.99 rate for a longer period may upgrade to a 1 year subscription immediately and retain the $7.99 rate for an additional 6 months.  The additional 6 months is billed upon upgrade.  You may upgrade to a 12 month subscription at https://secure.usfamily.net/usr-demo-card.html

Trouble with your modem connecting or disconnecting?

If you think you might have a modem problem there is no cost to try our modem replacement plan and find out.

Some people have trouble with their modems failing to connect or disconnecting randomly, especially during heavy use like a file   download.  This is most commonly caused by a modem in your computer that is slightly ill, has a compatibility problem of some kind, or has the wrong modem driver installed.  Because we value happy customers and try to provide a service quality far beyond what the other more expensive services provide, we have developed a modem trade in program where we supply tested replacement modems far below our cost, to help you resolve this kind of issue.  The most popular replacement modem is just $10.

You can check out the modem replacement plan at    http://www.usfamily.net/faq.html#access

If replacing a modem exceeds your technical ambitions call and talk to a service rep about our $25 computer drop-off program.

Because of USFamily.Net's patent pending priority system, there is never a busy signal.  You should connect the 1st time every time and stay connected as long as you are working at your computer, and your priority permits. (The modems do automatically hang up if you leave your computer idle for 15 minutes. A priority interruption is uncommon and is always accompanied by email notification and logged on your account.)
