VIRUS ATTACKS INTERNET - USFAMILY PROTECTED

MYDOOM spells trouble for Internet, but not at USFamily.Net
A new email worm was spreading rapidly throughout the Internet earlier this month,
clogging e-mail servers for Internet users around the world - but not at USFamily.Net.
USFamily.Net users were protected, once again, from the latest virus attack on the Internet.
The Mydoom, or Norvarg, or Mimail.R virus, as it has been called, started attacking the
Internet the last week of January, causing difficulty and frustration for users and companies around
the country. Because of USFamily.Net’s SPAM filtering and virus detection, however, this
attack did not affect very many USFamily.Net users.
“We caught this new one pretty much right away”, commented Jim Lundberg, President of
USFamily.Net. “Our system was receiving an infected email about once every second, but
because of our SPAM filter, we were able to intercept the virus before it arrived in most
of our users’ mailboxes.”
This is just the latest in a long line of Internet worms that USFamily.Net has intercepted
for its users. Once again, USFamily.Net has provided its users the Internet Access they
