Inspeaking

Talking to the Old Gods is not a bad idea. For us or for them. Over the years I have come to believe that an Omnipresent Omnipotent Deity is actually marketing hype. Great as the Goddess is she is part of the Universe and has limits. What these limits really are is something that we are not likely to find out soon. Still she may benefit from hearing from us. I know from experience that we can benefit from talking with her.

In the past Wicca has occasionally included  " Boons ". This is the asking of favors from the Goddess and God. In many cases this was Gimme  Gimme I want  Do this for me NOW!   We are the children of the Goddess and the God so how would your mother react to being surrounded by this behavior? My mother would be less than happy. We were mostly supposed to take care of ourselves. Begging and whining were not acceptable behavior. I could see her walking away until we behaved. This might be why Christian prayers are so rarely answered.

Inspeaking is a term borrowed from science fiction ( Ansen Dibell ) and Triskellion uses it to describe talking with the Gods during ritual. It normally comes after the calling of Lady Lord or Brotherhood and before the next calling. Anyone can inspeak and no one is required to.

So if you are not going to beg what do you say? Well how about Lady, I saw you last week over at the stream crossing University Ave. The Snow was melting and the Ice was crystal and bright in the sun. The spring melt had started and it was stark and pure and beautiful I saw you in the change of seasons and you were beautiful.
( Momma likes compliments )

Another might be " Lord of the Wild I saw a doe that was killed by the road on I 694.  I made the sign of the pentacle and blessed its passing I asked you to guide her into the Summerland.  I realized with her, that all things die and that when my time comes you will be there for me.  Thank You."

Still another thing to say  "  Last Saturday was the Minnehaha clean up  we had forty or so people picking up trash in the park  it was cold and rainy. Still we pulled out a thousand pounds of trash. In this I see the Brotherhoods dedication and stubbornness and I was proud of them and proud to be a part of the cleanup."
