Magical Personality The average student comes to the craft with about twenty years worth of society telling them that "all that occult stuff is fake, nobody can work magic." This acts as a barrier because your subconscious has been told that it can't do something, so it won't. You have also been told that you aren't anyone special just 546-92-0995 (a number). You have also been conditioned to believe that you can't change yourself. Still magic does work, and you don't have to accept these limitations. Magic and Witchcraft teach the use of the magical personality. It is a tool that will allow you to become what ever you want to become. It is simply the creation of an alternate personality. In some ways this is a controlled schizophrenia. There is an occult philosophy that states that we are more than just body, emotions, subconscious and conscious. They include a spiritual part of our being that exists beyond the physical plane and our own perceptions, This is called by many names including our "high self". By creating a magical personality as a psychic reality we are also giving our "high self" a tool to use to communicate with us and to function with on this plane. CAUTION !! The magical personality is used in ritual to bypass your subconscious blocks and is not a game. It may resemble fantasy role playing games but it can literally remake your life for you, the way you want. Care should be used in the creation of your magical personality, because maintaining a balanced personality is really necessary. Accentuating an area of yourself that is already overdeveloped can literally drive you insane. Example: If you have a naturally short temper and are angry most of the time and then choose the magical personality of an enraged, vicious, man of action, barbarian type, you may end up in an insane asylum or prison. Imagine what your ideal priest/ess should be. Use your imagination to create this person in detail. Choose a name, physical body, emotional attitudes, spiritual attainment, power commitments etc. Build up these images in your mind, because this is who you are going to become in ritual. When you are preparing for ritual work, think of your magical personality. Visualize it thoroughly. As you robe or as part of your personal vesting ritual, start to think of yourself becoming that priest/ess. Then proceed to act as if you are that person. Given time this robing/vesting ceremony will become a command to your sub-conscious to become your priest/ess self. As an aid to your magical personality you should make your robes and tools the same as those your magical personality would choose. These are the basics of creating a magical personality. After awhile you will really become your priest/ess image in ritual. Given time, you may find yourself out growing parts of your magical personality and that parts of your magical personality have crossed over into your daily life. You may even need a new magical name or magical personality. With this tool you can become what ever you want to be. Occult philosophy talks of the three selves of a person the Low self, the Middle self and the High self. These correspond to the subconscious the conscious and the spirit. In creating a magical personality you are by passing the limitations of your conscious and subconscious minds by making a form for your higher self to use. Given time your high self will reshape your life and require a magical personality that can channel more of itself, than your first attempt could. It is not a fantasy and should not be treated as one. It is the way you can become your ideal priest/ess. MAGICAL PERSONALITY INVENTORY PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES: Height, weight, body type Hair color etc. Since this is your ideal priest/ess self no disabilities are allowed. DRESS: What are the robes/dress of your ideal priest/ess? What magical tools do they have? Once you have determined this for your priest/ess self you should try to acquire these clothes and equipment, physically for yourself PARENTAGE: Who are the spiritual parents of your priest/ess? They can be Gods, Goddesses, Natural Forces, events, even places. What ever spiritual parentage, it should be something you can be proud of. Good forces are acceptable or even dark forces but don't claim kinship with foul or evil things. HISTORY: What did your Priest/ess self do before you became them? Example, I am Lung Ti dragonlord who made the island of Nihonji. RANK: In the realm of spirit/mythology what is the Rank of your Priest/ess self? The rank of your Priest/ess self should be high but not supreme ultimate..To chose that, is too much of a temptation for outrageous ego and conceit MAGICAL CAPABILITIES & OCCUPATION: To begin with your priest/ess self has got to be competent as a worker of magic. Further they must have no limits on what they might be able to do magically. (they may limit themselves for ethical reasons but not their abilities) Also they must be able to learn and grow. Occupation covers special areas of growth and development as healers, teachers, warriors, research workers...etc. PERSONALITY: What sort of a person are they? Kind and strong, stern , just, caring, etc. These qualities are what you want to grow into. i.e. if you are timid then courage should become a quality of your priest/ess self. If you are sloppy then your priest/ess self should be sharp, crisp and precision in what they do. NAME: This is the sum total of your magical personality. Any name can be used, old Gods, Natural phenomena names from fantasy and poetry even just a sound that resembles language, anything can be used. Exercise: Imagine a large mirror standing in front of you. See your reflection in the mirror not as you are, but as your magical self is.
