Psychic Self Defense THE SINGLE MOST COMMON FORM OF PSYCHIC ATTACK IS GENERATED BY THE VICTIMS OWN MIND AND HAS NO OTHER CAUSE! CAUTION:  If a shield is kept up too long it will harm you simply because it cuts you off from the web of life.  That is, those energies that we receive naturally from the sun and wind and all nature.  Also if your shield is really secure, your own psychic by-products have no where to go and you end up swimming in your own excrement.  Religious sanctuaries can be a safe shelter, such as older Catholic churches.  CLEANSING AND RE-BALANCING are techniques you can use to regain your normal steadiness.  They are useful after a psychic assault, to clear away the experience and allow you to continue on with your life.  The timely use of these two techniques can save you days of irritation. CLEANSING in Wiccan circles is usually accomplished by the salt water bath.  Simply take a bath in salt water and imagine the crud that is bothering you soaking off and then going down the drain.  There is a more complex cleansing that Triskellion uses; take a shower and scrub down with a mixture of baking soda, salt, and tincture of myrrh.  Do not get this mix in your eyes or mouth as it tastes horrible.  In rare circumstances, some people have gotten a rash from this mixture.  While scrubbing down with this mix visualize the irritations and problems that are on you dissolving and breaking up and finally going down the drain. This cleansing is good for removing physical dirt and psychic dirt as the myrrh is an antiseptic as well. RE-BALANCING can be accomplished by taking three deep breathes and imagining yourself sinking into the center of your being. Be still within yourself for a time and let your tensions, worries and fears flow away from you.  Then return to normal consciousness. AURA INTENSIFICATION is the thickening of the aura to resist rupturing or energy taps or drains. Visualize your aura as being about 1" out from your skin.  Imagine it as about the consistency of cotton candy.  Next visualize and will your aura to get thicker more like a rubber cement.   BASIC SHIELD refers to a barrier defense against etheric, telepathic and some psychological assaults.  This shield will cut anyone or anything inside off from the rest of the natural world and should be used ONLY when needed and then for a limited time only.  ( Diagrams are to the left ) STAGE ONE:  Visualize a cube of gold energy inside yourself, where your solar plexus is located.  STAGE TWO: Will the faces of the cube to expand outward in all directions, until the faces are outside of your body.  This makes you look like you have been skewered by three rods.  The first rod is head to toe, the second is left to right and the third rod is front to back. STAGE THREE:  Will and visualize the rod ends splitting into four parts (like a grapnel) and growing until they meet the other rod ends and fuse together.  This forms three rings that circle you.  Front to back, left to right and one at chest height like hula hoops suspended from your solar plexus by three axles. STAGE FOUR:  The gold rings that surround you intersect each other creating a triangular shape like a piece of pie.  Will the rods to get thicker and thicker.  This will cause the open space between the rods to get smaller, until they form a solid egg around you that is held in place by the rods coming out of your solar plexus. STAGE FIVE:  With a solid egg of gold energy around your body you are now isolated from outside psychism.  However anything that was riding on you when the shield went up, is still there inside with you.  Visualize the original cube of gold energy inside your solar plexus.  Look inside of that cube and see a small egg of gold energy.  Will and visualize that small egg getting larger and larger and pushing any foreign psychic energy away from you. The egg gets larger and larger until it crushes and totally destroys any foreign psychic energy on the outside shell (stage four) of gold energy, leaving you in a solid egg of gold protective energy. REMOVAL:  This shield will naturally fade away given about 48-72 hours depending on the strength that was used to make it.  To remove it sooner, the person who created it simply imagines it fading away to nothing. This shield will take some time to create at first but with practice it can be built in about 10 seconds and stand against almost anything.
