p. 79; Isaac Pancake and Eleanor his wife to George Pancake; 05 Jan 1837; Quitclaim in partition of "land deeded and devised to them jointly in the will of their father John Pancake", in consideration of One Dollar in cash and "the mutual benefit and satisfaction of both parties". Parties agree that this indenture shall be null and void if the will of their father John Pancake Sen'r is not sustained in law. Some of the land was described by Section, Range, and Township Numbers which refer to land in Jackson Twp. Pike Co. Signed Isaac Pancake, Elende Pancake. Witnessed by William Hampton and John Booton. p. 87; John Pancake and Jane his wife to George Pancake; 17 Jan 1837; Quitclaim "for purpose of exchanging lands with the said George Pancake", in consideration of One Dollar in cash; land described includes 100 acres formerly owned by Nathaniel Massie [NB: see Ross Co. OH Deed Book Vol. 1, p. 452], and the undivided fourth part of a tract of land "conveyed jointly by Peter Switzer to John Pancake Sen'r, John Pancake Jun'r & George and Isaac Pancake [NB: see Pike Co. OH Deed Book Vol. D, p. 339]. Parties agree that this indenture shall be null and void if the will of their father John Pancake Sen'r is not sustained in law. Signed John Pancake, Jane Pancake. Witnessed by William Hampton and Moses Wese(?). Recorded 10 Apr 1837.
p. 188; George Pancake and Sarah Ann his wife to Isaac Pancake; 05 Jan 1837; Quitclaim in
partition of "land deeded and devised to them jointly in the will of their father John Pancake", in
consideration of One Dollar in cash and "the mutual benefit and satisfaction of both parties"; land
described as part of "a tract of land formerly owned by Jesse Mounts and devised to his sons
Thomas and Milton Mounts and afterwards conveyed by them to John Pancake Sen'r [NB: see
Pike Co. OH Deed Book Vol. B, p. 78 and Vol. C, p. 88] and devised jointly by him to the before
mentioned parties; also about 19 acres of "a tract of land bought from William Hulse by the said
John Pancake and known as the Hulse place" [NB: see Pike Co. OH Deed Book Vol. C, p. 609],
on both sides of the Ohio Canal, and "also all that part of the Bowyer place devised as aforesaid
by their father John Pancake Sen'r." Parties agree that this indenture shall be null and void if the
will of their father John Pancake Sen'r is not sustained in law. Signed George Pancake, Sally Ann
Pancake. Witnessed by Wm Hampton, John Booton. Recorded 9 Jun 1837.
NB: These records give the wives' names (which helps to identify these men in other records, e.g., census records, by removing any question as to which "John Pancake" or "Isaac Pancake" we're talking about), and also describes the land that was inherited. All three records describe portions of the same tracts of land, in more or less detail.
