"Two brothers, Howard and Eugene Pancake, 34 and 16-years-old respectively, Bainbridge R. R. 2, were taken into custody Tuesday by Sheriff Cleo Shaffer, who believed them to be implicated in theft near Carmel.
"Upon being questioned by the Sheriff the brothers admitted breaking into the Chester Carter residence, Hillsboro R. R. 8, the night of March 28 and taking two suits of clothes, a pair of shoes, two shirts, a sack of flour, ten pounds of sugar, numerous articles of women's and children's clothing, two defense stamp books with $38.70 worth of stamps affixed, wrenches and various other items.
"Wednesday morning Mr. Carter filed charges of breaking and entering against the Pancake brothers. Eugene, the younger brother, will be arraigned before the probate judge. Howard will be given a preliminary hearing before Magistrate W. G. Hogsett.
"Sheriff Shaffer and Deputy Wesley Kelley recovered a major portion of the stolen articles. Eugene had taken the War Savings Stamp books to school and they were recovered there.

Two New Divorce Actions Filed in Court; Man Seeks Land As Alimony
"There is a very unusual feature in the case of Robert Pancake against Martha Pancake. This unusual feature is that a man asks for alimony. The parties were married on Oct. 26, 1907 and have seven children, all adults but two. Mr. Pancake says that for more than three years his wife has been living in a state of adultery with William Sweeney at Jacksonville, Adams County, Ohio. He further says that his wife is the owner of 40 acres of land in Paint Township on which the plaintiff erected a house; that plaintiff is 67 years of age and in poor health being afflicted with rheumatism and that his wife is 53 years of age and in good health. The plaintiff prays for a divorce; that he be awarded the farm as alimony and for the custody of the two minor children.
"Judge McDowell granted an injunction restraining the defendant from incumbering or selling the real estate or interferring with the plaintiff's peaceable custody of the two minor children."
