OBITUARIES

The Athens Messenger, Athens, Ohio, Monday, October 31, 1927, page 3

          Mrs. Martha J. Pancake, 77, died Sunday evening at her home near Doanville. Funeral services will be held at the late residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made at Greenlawn by the side of her husband, Phillip Pancake who died 11 years ago. She leaves two daughters and four sons.

Mrs. Powers Dies, Aged 74

     NELSONVILLE - Mrs. Melvina Powers, 74, died early Saturday at her home, Nelsonville Route 1, after a three months' illness.
     Widow of Albert Powers, she is survived by one son, Edward, Lancaster; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Miller, Brilliant, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Mary McDonald, Nelsonville Route 1; and three brothers, Albert Pancake, of the home, George, Nelsonville Route 1 and Daniel, local; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. J. A. Long, pastor of the Christian Church, Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the family home, where friends may call at any time. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.
