Marietta Inselman, daughter of George and Modella Brower Pancake, was born in Forest City Township, Meeker County, Minnesota on February 12, 1882.
She was united in marriage to Edwin Watkins in the year 1900 and to this union were born one son and two daughters.
The family farmed near Forest City for several years and then moved to Spokane, Washington for a period of 6 years. When Mr. Watkin's health failed they moved back to the Forest City community and after his death the family moved to Litchfield to make their home.
On September 17, 1919 she married Len T. Inselman and they have made their home in Litchfield since that time.
Mrs. Inselman passed away at Meeker County Memorial Hospital on Sept. 7, 1959 after an illness of about four years.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Len T. Inselman; one son, Claude Watkins of Twisp, Wash.; two daughters (Gladys) Mrs. Lloyd Chellin of Grove City and (Iva) Mrs. Delphin Johnson of Litchfield; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Hake of Spokane, Wash. and (Iva Lou) Mrs. Louis Inselman of Kerkhoven, Minn.; three brothers, George Pancake of Malta, Montana, Alonzo Pancake of Litchfield and James Pancake of Watkins and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Inselman was a charter member of the Church of The Nazarene in Litchfield and an active member of the Missionary Society of the church.
Funeral services were held at the Church of the Nazarene in Litchfield on Thursday, September 10 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harry Grimshaw officiating, assited by Mrs. T. W. Anderson. Special music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Abel Ekbom of Willmar, Mrs. Harry Grimshaw, Mrs. Lloyd Agren and Mrs. Richard Rumann.
Bearers were Albert Koerner, Henry E. Seiffert, Herman A. Hickler, Erwin J. Krueger, Oliver Christenson and Ben L. Johnson. Interment was in Ripley cemetery.
Friends and relatives that attended from out of town included: Mrs. John Hake, Spokane, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Pancake, Malta, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. George Sinkie, Gann Valley, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Orgene Bak, Yankton, S.D.; besides relatives and friends from Minneapolis, Willmar, Kerkhoven and Watkins.
