Mrs. G. W. Pancake died at her home in Forest City town November 20, 1932, after a long period of failing health and at times of much suffering which she bore patiently and with true Christian fortitude. She was born in Center county, Penn., April 30, 1860, and on July 22, 1877, was married to G. W. Pancake at Kingston, in this county. The marriage was blessed with ten children, of whom eight survive, Mrs. John Hake, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. L. T. Inselman, Litchfield; Mrs. Louis Inselman, Kerkhoven; G. W., Malta, Mont.; Ernest, Alonzo, Lindsay and James, Forest City.
Mrs. Pancake was converted in the Seventh Day Adventist church and was a faithful member of that church. At her departure to be with her Lord she was aged 72 years, 6 months and 29 days.
Funeral services were held the following Wednesday afternoon, with brief services at the home where the pastor read a portion of scripture, made a short address and led in prayer. Services followed at the church where the pastor's message was based on 1st Thess., 4:13-18. Rev. C. Edwardson of Hutchinson officiated and was assisted by the choir of the Adventist church at Hutchinson. Interment was made in the Forest City cemetery. The sons served as pallbearers.
The deceased is survived by the husband, five sons, three daughters, 32 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, deeply devoted to her home and family and will always be remembered for her kind deeds of love and helpfulness to those in need. She is also mourned by many other relatives and friends. But no one needs to sorrow as they who have no hope, for she knew on Whom she believed and He is able to keep that which is committed unto Him against that day.
