MARVIN PANKAKE

     Marvin Pankake, 81, of Blackduck, died Sept. 29, 1995 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
     Funeral services were Tuesday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato with the Rev. Joel Fredrikson officiating. Local arrangements were made by Gease Funeral Home of Bemidji.
     He was born July 30, 1914 in Kingston to Ernest and Esther Pankake. He married Lucille Rusch on Oct. 16, 1937. They were former residents of the Wells and Mapleton areas and moved to Blackduck in 1981.
     He farmed most of his life and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
     He is survived by his wife, Lucille; four daughters, Esther Kaiser of Claremont, Gloria Hohmann of Buffalo, Wis., Carol Lee of Story City, Iowa and Marcella Rathai of St. James; two sons, Gary of Mapleton and Ronald of Mankato; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Johnson of Colorado and Maryann Torgerson of California; and a brother, Norman, of Watkins.
