Leslie J. Pankake, 73, of Litchfield passed away Thursday, June 30, at Burns Manor Nursing Home in Hutchinson. Mr. Pankake was a retired State Highway maintenance foreman, working out of the Litchfield area.
          Surviving are his wife, Edith; three sons, Boyd of Litchfield; Hess of South Gate, Calif., and Gale of the U.S. Army, stationed in Spain; two daughters, Mrs. Vincent Koenke (Mary Ann) of South St. Paul, and Mrs. Eldred Anderson (Martha) of Hutchinson; 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Williams and Mrs. Ruby Anderson, both of Litchfield; and one brother, Edwin Pankake of Grove City.
          Funeral rites were held Saturday, July 2 at 9 a.m. at St. Philip's Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Myles McGowan officiating. Interment was at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Military rites and escort were by the Admiral Benson Post 2818 V.F.W. of Litchfield.
            The Parish Prayer Vigil was held Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the Erickson Funeral Home.
