Obituary of John Frederick "Fred" Pankake

    Fred Pankake was born at Ironton, O., May 18, 1864, and died Tuesday morning, after an illness of six days. A stroke proved fatal, following a prolonged illness from heart trouble.
     In 1886 [sic] Mr. Pankake accompanied his parents to Meeker County where they remained until 1875 when they removed to Kansas. At the age of 14, Mr. Pankake and his brother, George W. Pankake, returned to Forest City. In 1888 he was married to Miss Isabel Hamilton, daughter of the late Samuel Hamilton, also of Forest City. They at once settled on a farm where he lived until his death. Mr. Pankake was aged 68 years, 11 months, and 14 days.
     His death is mourned by his wife and four children, Mrs. Clyde Williams and Leslie Pankake, Litchfield; Mrs. Algot Anderson, Forest Prairie, and Edwin Pankake, at home. A daughter, Mrs. John Harbinson, died 20 years ago this month. Mr. Pankake also left five brothers, George W., Forest City; Leonard, Indiana; Abe and Calvin, Kansas, and Philip, Nebraska
