Obituary of Allen Edwin "Eddie" Pankake

ALLEN E. PANKAKE

          Allen Edwin Pankake, 71, of Swede Grove township, passed away Dec. 26 at Meeker County Memorial Hospital.
          Surviving are his wife, Amy; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Anderson and Mrs. Irene Williams, both of Litchfield, and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Leslie, passed away earlier in 1966.
          Allen Edwin Pankake, son of the late Isabelle and Fred Pankake, was born Dec. 8, 1895 in Forest City. He spent his youth in Forest City and in 1940 moved to a farm in Swede Grove township, where he lived until his death. The Pankakes had been married for 36 years.
          Funeral services were held Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Erickson Funeral Home in Litchfield, with Rev. Anton H. Chell of First Lutheran Church, Grove City, officiating.
          The soloist, Steven Dietz, sang two songs, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Abide With Me", accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Arden Burleigh.
          Pallbearers were Richard Schmit, LeRoy Hillman, William Peterson, Ervin Smith, Donald Tiffany, and Francois Peterson. Interment was in Ripley cemetery, Litchfield.
          Those attending the funeral from away were Warren O. Peterson of Lincoln, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Francois Peterson of Willmar, Robert Williams, Mrs. Phil Hartnick, and Mrs. Victoria Anderson, all of Minneapolis, Arnold Ritzloff of Farmington, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tiffany of Redwood Falls, Mary Tiffany of Boulder, Colo., and David Tiffany of Northfield.
