ALGOT ANDERSON

          Algot Anderson of Forest Prairie township, passed away March 4th at his home suffering a heart attack, at the age of 67.
          Mr. Anderson was born May 14, 1894 in St. Paul, Minnesota, son of Sophia and Peter Anderson. At the age of one year he moved to Meeker County with his parents, where he lived his entire life on a farm north of Forest City, with the exception of over a year served with the U.S. Army, Company 2, overseas during World War I in the Field Artillery Branch.
          He was a member of the Ostmark Lutheran Church for the past thirty years, and of the Admiral Benson Post and V.F.W. of Litchfield.
          He is survived by his wife, Ruby; three daughters, Mrs. Ervin (Maxine) Smith of Litchfield; Mrs. Arnold (Bernice) Retzlaff; and Mrs. Richard (Deloris) Farley, both of Farmington, Minn.; six grandchildren, one nephew, Gary Olson of Redding, California, and several cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. One brother, Levin, passed away two months ago.
          Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at Ostmark Lutheran Church. Pastor Russell B. Roy officiated.
          Mr. John Kling was the organist and Mr. Gilbert Boline the soloist. Pallbearers were William Westergaard, Gerhard Osterberg, Archie Erickson, Gust Nelson, Edwin Hallberg, and George Pankake.
          Military escort was by members of the Admiral Benson Post 2818. Interment was in the church cemetery.
