Application of S. F. Secrest to be appointed administrator to Estate of John Pancake. d. Dec 1882; application dated 24 Jan 1883; Widow was Mary A. Pancake. Secrest was empowered to continue a lawsuit in Knox Co. Indiana in which John Pancake was Plaintiff and Adam Smith was Defendant. Minor children were Isaac Pancake and Susan Pancake, both of Frankfort [Concord Twp., Ross Co. OH]. NB: Received two pages out of seven pages in file.

Application of Isaac Pancake Jr. to be appointed administrator to Estate of John Pancake, d. 28 Dec 1882; application dated 9 Sep 1885; Heirs named were Isaac Pancake and Nellie Pancake; she was "a minor under age 15". NB: Received two pages out of ten pages in file.

Note: This John Pancake is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe OH. His headstone inscription gives birth and death dates: "John Pancake; 10 Jan 1818 -- 28 Dec 1882". Nearby is the grave of one Nellie R. (Pancake) Moon (13 Jun 1872 -- 23 Jan 1901), her husband Addison J. Moon (11 Mar 1866 -- 19 Feb 1903), and their two children Ethel Z. Moon (1895-1896) and Elden S. Moon (1896-1897).
