On October 8th, 1835, Abraham Pancake of LaGrange County, Indiana purchased the following parcel of land in Noble County from the federal government through the Fort Wayne Land Office:

160 acres, the SE quarter of Section 22 in Township 35 North of Range 8 East

On March 15th, 1837, John Pancake of Pickaway County, Ohio purchased the following four parcels of land in Noble County from the federal government through the Fort Wayne Land Office:
160 acres, the SE quarter of Section 8 in Township 35 North of Range 9 East
160 acres, the SW quarter of Section 9 in Township 35 North of Range 9 East
 40 acres, the SE quarter of the SE quarter of Section 17 in Township 35
           North of Range 9 East
 40 acres, the NW quarter of the NW quarter of Section 21 in Township 35
           North of Range 9 East
