Military Rites for Griffith Veteran
GRIFFITH--Full military rites at 10:30 a. m. today marked services for Harry Oliver Rodman, 47, who died Monday at his home in Ross. The Rev. T.J. Beam of Hammond officiated at Geisen's chapel and burial was in Ross cemetery.
Rodman was a veteran of World War I and a member of Griffith post, American Legion. A squad of Griffith legionnaires fired three salutes. Taps were sounded and the American Legion burial service read.

Mrs. Alice E. Sewell
Mrs. Alice E. Sewell, 63, of 448 176th St., Hammond, died today in Dyer Mercy Hospital.
Surviving are her husband, Newton; a son, John Boles of Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Geeve, Hammond; Mrs. Ethel Mike, Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Jene Kerr, Highland; two sisters, Mrs. Welthy Elliet, Council Bluffs, Ia.; and Mrs. Ina Knapp, Ross, Ind., four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Clarence J. Huber Funeral Home, 722 165th St., Hammond. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 and from 7 to 10.
Mrs. Sewell lived in Hammond since 1925.
