Harvey Pancake - Jemima J. Hulse; marriage license applied for 3 Jun 1850, Vol. G2, p. 157; application also signed by Wm Hulse Sen'r.; words "NOT ISSUED" written accross entry, and no return was entered. [NB: probably no license was issued because Harvey Pancake was the uncle of Jemima Hulse (although he was only 2 years older than her) -- his older sister Elizabeth was Jemima's mother. In the 1860 and subsequent census records there was a child in Harvey Pancake's household (John W. Pancake) who was born 30 Aug 1850, several years prior to any of Harvey Pancake's subsequent marriages -- that child was probably the illegitimate son of Harvey and Jemima.]

The date of recording and the signature of the minister were unreadable on the microfilm because it was too dark.

[NB: No details of cases are given in these court minutes. There is a detailed account of the case in Pike Co. Complete Record Book Vol 1, p. 9 (1854), but that volume has not been microfilmed, and the clerk at the Pike Co. Courthouse has so far been unable to find the original volume. Harvey Pancake married Margaret Hartley in Pike Co. on 5 Nov 1854, less than one month after this case was dismissed.]
