Rites conducted for Frank L. Pankake

     Frank L. Pankake, 84, Hutchinson, a former Dassel resident, died Oct. 28 at the Dassel Lakeside Community Home.
     Services were conducted Nov. 1 from the Evangelical Covenant Church, Dassel, with the Rev. Wallace Pratt officiating. Mrs. Morris Latt was the organist, and Mrs. Lowell Baumetz was the soloist.
     Interment was in the Dassel Cemetery.
     Frank L. Pankake was born June 23, 1901, at Dassel, Minnesota, a son of Linzay and Hulda Pankake.
     On Aug. 4, 1937, he was married to Ellen Marks in Spencer, Iowa. He had been a resident of Dassel most of his life except for 2 1/2 years during World War II when he was in Portland, Ore., and for the past seven years when he resided in Hutchinson. He had worked on construction as well as being a painter.
     Survivors include his wife, Ellen, Hutchinson; one son, Jon of Minneapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Rodney (Kay) Benson, Hutchinson, and Mrs. Robert (Sheila) Allison, Melbourne, Australia; two grandchildren; two brothers, Louis, Minnesota Veterans Home, Minneapolis, and Alan, Dassel, and one sister, Lynn Schunert, San Diego, Calif.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Blanche Elliott Jordahl and Marion Gayner.
