SISTER SUCCUMBS TO CITY GAS FUMES

FORMER RESIDENT OF DASSEL FOUND IN GAS FILLED ROOM IN MINNEAPOLIS

Mrs. Gust Swanstrom received the sad news Tuesday of the death of her half sister, Mrs. William S. Coburn, of Minneapolis. She was found unconscious that day in a gas filled room at her home. The fire department pulmotor squad was called but failed in their efforts to revive her. The flame of the gas range had been extinguished in some way and she had been overcome by the gas.
Mrs. Coburn, formerly Miss Ella Pankake, was about fifty eight years old and was well known here where she grew to womanhood and married. Her husband was in business in the village twice. He leased and managed the hotel in Dassel about forty years ago. Later they had a restaurant here.
Deceased is survived by her husband, a son living in New Jersey, two daughters, Mrs. Ray Nelson and Mrs. Gene Allard of Minneapolis; a half brother, Jerome Pankake of St. Paul; two half sisters, Mrs. Gust Swanstrom of this village and Mrs. W. S. Jones of Minneapolis and many other relatives. The family have the sympathy of their many friends here in her untimely death.
