Funeral services were held on Friday, March 21, 1986 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church for Mrs. John Ben (Cecile) Arens, 77, who died Tuesday, March 18 at Hilltop Care Center. The Rev. George Schmit officiated with burial in the parish cemetery.
     Cecile Arens was born December 12, 1908 in Forest City Township, Meeker County, to Ernest and Esther (Hillstrom) Pancake and married John Ben Arens in 1927 in Kimball.
     Survivors include sons and daughters; John Jr., Young America; LuVern, Buffalo; Mrs. Virgil (Beverly) Rettig, Eden Valley; Leslie, Sauk Centre; Mrs. Truman (Karen) Nelson, St. Cloud; brothers and sisters, Norman, Watkins; Marvin, Blackduck; Mrs. Art (Sallie) Johnson, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Richard (Marianne) Borgerson, Cango Park, California; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters.
     Pallbearers were Roger, Jimmie, Jammie and Richard Arens, James Rettig and Terry Nelson.
