On this seventeeth day of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred & fifty one, personally appeared before me Martin Robinson, a Justice of the Peace, within and for the county, and state aforesaid, Barbara Pancake, aged sixty four years, a resident of said county of Knox, state of Indiana, who being duly sworn according to law declares that she is the widow of Jacob Pancake deceased, who told her that he had been a Ranger in the Service of the United States, and was honorably discharged at Vincennes, where he received his pay from Maj. Whitlock, Paymaster. She further states that she was married to the said Jacob Pancake on the fifth day of December, one thousand and eight hundred and nineteen (1819) by William Gamble Justice of the Peace, in and for said county of Knox, State of Indiana, that her name before her marriage to the said Jacob Pancake (and her marriage to Daniel Gaultney, deceased) was Barbara Gaultney, and she remainded the widow of said Daniel, until she married the said Jacob, and is still a widow, that her maiden name before her marriage to Daniel Gaultney, as related, was Barbara Reel, that she makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which she is entitled under the act passed September 28th 1850, and refers to the evidence hereunto annexed, to satisfy the department on behalf of said Pancake, her last husband.
