A memorial service was held Thursday afternoon, March 29, for Blanche I. Jordahl at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora with the Rev. Jerome Malak officiating. Music was furnished by Fa-Ho-Chi choir, Arlene Malak, soloist, and Shirley Kilgore, organist.
     Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church in Dassel Saturday afternoon, March 31, with the Rev. Jerome Malak and the Rev. Charles Humphrey officiating. Music was furnished by Fa-Ho-Chi Choir, Margaret Holmberg, soloist, and Mrs. Paul Osness, organist.
     Blanche Iris Jordahl, daughter of Linzay and Hulda Pankake, was born in Dassel Aug. 15, 1906, and died suddenly Monday, Mar. 26. She was confirmed in the Episcopal Church in Litchfield. She graduated from Dassel High School and Normal Training and taught in country schools in that area.
     In 1928, she married James Elliott. They built and operated the Lakeland Theater and later installed a restaurant.
     In 1952 they moved to Roseville where Elliott was elementary principal. When he died in 1956, Blanche taught in the Roseville schools.
     In 1958, she was married to Stanley Jordahl. They resided in the Twin Cities, Webster, Wis., and finally, Mora. For the past eight months, she resided in Lester Prairie, caring for Louise Lorence.
     Mrs. Jordahl was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Royal Neighbors of America.
     While residing in Dassel, she was a member of the First Lutheran Church. At the time of her death, she held membership in Calvary Lutheran Church of Mora.
     She is survived by: one daughter, Mrs. Robert Lorence (Mary) of Mora; three grandchildren, David, Bill and Debra Lorence; one sister, Mrs. James Schunert (Lynnette) of Santee, Calif., and three brothers, Frank Pankake, Louis Pankake, both of Hutchinson, and Alan Pankake of Dassel.
