That week sure went fast; my crown came in. It took no time at all to cement it in and the fit is perfect. Here it is in the plaster model.

My pal Richard was thinking about driving his motor home down to PDC this winter as an alternative to Puerto Vallarta. At the last minute he bids on eBay and wins a houseboat and trailer in Bay City Texas (just South of Houston). He drives down to Bay City to check out his winnings and see how the MH likes pulling it. He then comes to PDC via Cancun about a week after I got here.

All of that is to explain why we took a short bus ride down to an RV park at Paamul (Pam-ool) after I got the crown cemented in. He is always on the hunt for a place to keep his MH on future Mexico trips. Paamul is about 8 miles South of PDC and situated on the most beautiful little bay I've ever seen.

The RV sites are leased long term and can be "improved". Should a lessee move on, the improvements are sold to the next lessee. The improvements usually include an all inclusive thatched roof structure called a Pallapa.

The Pallapas are built to order by local Mayan Indians. I was told that the traditional roofing thatch is Palm fronds, however there is an untreatable blight killing the specific and preferred palm and all the newer huts are thatched with marsh reeds similar to very course straw. This Pallapa shelters the park's on-site restaurant.
