Today I got on the bike and had a chance to start checking the
town out. The road traffic is dense and sometimes intense but
courteous and not frightening to participate in. I feel safer riding
here than MPLS. This is a separate bike lane on 10th (the most busy vehicle street paralleling the beach) that runs for over a mile.

Here's a summer car I've not seen before.
Futuristic open car with few side panels.

This is an old fashioned 'Grease Pit' used for oil changes and simple under car repairs. Sometimes the simplest solutions are best. My friend Brent worked in one of these when he was young. Fond memories Brent?

Here is a truck Harry will like. They get the huge ground clearance with reduction gears on the ends of the axles like the old VW buses.
Refurbished Marcedes army truck with high ground clearance. Used by a dive shop to transport divers to Cenotes.

Here is a tease for you Kurt.

When I got home the laptop parts seemed to be all dried out and I assembled it, no joy! I took it all apart again, down to the last lock washer and even unplugged the processor from the motherboard. I took the motherboard in the shower with me and rinsed it all off with warm water. I did the same with the PCMCIA slot mechanism, and laid it all out to dry again.

I had time to ride over to the Playacar gated area and continue the search for the AA group and.... Eureka!
I went to a meeting that night and it was pretty white bread after visiting the Groupo, but many nice people, mostly expiates. I met a guy with 12 years prior to his slip earlier this year. He wasn't out long and is back with a vengeance. I asked him to be my temporary sponsor and it was perfect. He is only available on his cel phone, I don't have access to a phone, he spends most of his day sponsoring bilingual newcomers so I didn't have much contact outside meetings.
