Week

It's a miracle I'm loosing any weight but I am
down a few pounds despite an occasional lunch at the local rib
place.
(~$2.85)

I enjoy having Cantaloupe and strawberry yogurt for breakfast but have
had to cut the cantaloupe up into chunks because I haven't had a
spoon. At home I use a 'melon baller' but didn't bring it. I liked the
large handle on the fork and spoon above so well that I asked the owner
if
she'd sell them and she said she'd like 5 pesos each (~50¢). What
a dear. I'm watching a tropical downpour this early morning, thinking
maybe I'll have cantaloupe for breakfast today. =).
Pedaling home after the meeting last night I passed one of the ocean
front jewelry shops where they were trying to move a huge safe back
into the store with a forklift. I understand the seas of Wilma finally
crashed their
way into the place and drove the safe out into the street, across the
rocky beach into the sea. The store owners and insurance company were
rumored to have offered lavish compensation for the finding and
recovering the safe. Some local divers went at it and succeeded only to
find the term 'Lavish' means different things to different people.
Since the divers had the safe, everyone came to terms. (No this guy
isn't trying to lift the safe, he's just having some fun with the
camera.)

What is a tropical downpour? I emptied out this hurricane candle and
yesterday's rains have almost filled it to the brim again. Notice the
air conditioner behind the wash hanging on the line? Pidgins like to
get on top of that AC unit in the mornings and breed because it's out
of sight from flying predators above. What a racket with their claws
tap dancing on the tin and all that cooing. I've tried sneaking the
camera around the corner for a little peek but they always bolt.

Earlier this week the carpenter measured my doorway for a screen door.
Here it is being installed. I had to leave to keep from trying to
'help'. =)
And that, folks, is the end of yet another week in Paradise. Shall we
close with a great sunset between rain showers?
