There was construction going on even through carnival. The contractor
promised he'd have the street part done in time for the first parade and
he made it, just.
Bartola at rest.
(any time, anywhere)
Here is another 'Roger Rabbit' Bug. I talked to the proud owner for
a while. It's titled as a '69 and was shortened in Mexico City. He's had
it for 6 years.
Here is my neighbor Cherris showing off her Carnival mask. Those are
Peacock feathers and she's wondering if US Customs will have an issue with
that when she and Don go home.
Last Sunday morning we had a 'beach meeting' of AA and I got there early
to looked around. Here is an early morning snorkler exploring the beach
'drop-off'.
This is one of an endless string of tidal pools. In Mexico, Sunday
is 'family day' and Cozumel asks the cruise ships to not stop here on Sundays.
That guy in the distance is a stray.
At that cruise ship dock there is a dive shop called Dive Martin. Last
year I used an older camera and housing and the lens of the housing started
to fog over about half way through the dive. I didn't think it was leaking
but I disassembled and serviced the seals in the lens anyway. I brought
it along this year and after the beach meeting I walked on down to Martin's
to pressure test the housing. I went out on the pier and lowered the empty
housing and a led weight down to 25 feet underwater and let it soak for
30 minutes. In the meantime I wandered around and watched one of Martin's
captains work on this steering wheel cover.
After the housing successfully passed it's test I started walking home
and took another picture of the Sunset Beach Club from street level.
I was just digging through some of last years pictures looking for a
picture of a business card for a pal and happened on this picture of the
above structures under early construction.
