This Golden Tailed Eel was quite content
to watch me thrashing around trying to get set up for just the right pose.
Tourists !! Note the Christmas Tree Feather Duster Worms on the left.
They are filter feeders looking for plankton. They are photo sensitive
and if they sense a shadow they retract into their tube shell so fast you're
not sure you really saw them in the first place.
Here is another seascape. All the white specks
at the beginning are tiny baby fish.

Well, lets get the rest of the 'Worms' out
of the way. This is a Split Crown Feather Duster Worm.
Here are a couple more Christmas Tree Featherdusters.
This is a small Bearded Fireworm. The fine
hairs along it's body can easily penetrate the skin and cause a painful
irritation. (~ 1 inch long [25 mm])
Next are some coral patches and sponges that
were just fun to photograph because of the diversity.
These are Blue and Brown Chromis
This is just a nice collection of sponges.
The Sergeant Major females lay their lovely
purple egg masses on the sandy sea floor. The males do a frenzied dance
fertilizing them and then vigorously guard the mass until it hatches. This
nearer guy just bit the camera.
Here is the picture again with the colors
edited.
