Week 6a
At different times over the years I've had 3 different school busses, all with 'Superior' built bodies. I know what a school bus looks like, OK?   During a walk down a back street I spotted this converted school bus with New York tags. It was walled in after it was driven onto it's spot, many years ago. I felt like I'd discovered an ancient Mayan pyramid in the jungle.  =)

I'm sure you all know what a can of motor oil looks like. Here are some quarts of oil and anti-freeze I found on the shelf of a local supermarket called Chedraui.

I've got another supermarket picture, but first some background. When they first brought electricity to the homes of Minneapolis it was routed through out the house with individual wires in glass tubes spanning from glass insulator to glass insulator. It's got a name like 'tube and knob' or something. You'll see disconnected sections of it in the attics of some really old homes.
There is a B&B kitty-corner to the Elephante that was hand built by a grown-up Hippy Chick and her boyfriend. My pal Richard's son and friends came down to visit and stayed at this B&B for for ten days. One of the units was illuminated by 12v lights that were powered by a transformer and pairs of wires routed through out the place and looked kind of like old 'tube and knob'. It also looks like gold mine lighting, on it's own, but the rooms are so artful and creative that you don't think of that at all.

All of that was to explain my interest in finding these 12v bulbs at the supermarket too. Maybe there is more 'off the grid' housing here than I suspect.

More, you want to see more weirdness from Chedrali. Ok, how tough would you say a rat would have to be before you'd go looking for an all steel rat trap? (I've never seen one rat down here)

My final 'find' is a couple Triciclos like mine but with regular size tires. The carrying capacity goes from 300 to 500 lbs with the bigger tires and the price is only $30 usd more.

The AA clubhouse is on the corner of 25th and 4th. As I may have mentioned before, these Mexican coastal towns typically have a main drag coming in from the highway to the sea, and it's usually called Juarez (a Revolutionary hero). Streets parallel to Juarez and North of it are numbered even: 2,4,6,8,etc. Streets parallel to Juarez and South of it are numbered odd: 1,3,5,7,etc. Streets crossing Juarez are numbered as multiples of 5, starting from the sea, 5,10,15,20,25, etc. So, the clubhouse (at 25th and 4th) is 5 blocks in from the sea and 2 blocks North of Juarez. Next door to the clubhouse is this open air car repair.

Here is yet another innocent mosquito, struck down in her prime. The CDC in Atlanta has a paper on Dengue you can find by searching 'www.a9.com' for Dengue Fever.
