Reflections
Just a few thoughts this morning for anyone who actually reads my blog. We live in a troubled world. There was a gruesome bombing that killed many people in Jakarta, the Middle east is still brewing. There is currently a time of relative peace there right now, but it is sort of a calm before the storm. Americans are still dying in Iraq. I believe our military heros are there with a just mission, but any time there are deaths, it is troubling. In America, a large denomination appointed an openly gay bishop (see below for some thoughts on this matter).
It seems that there is trouble all around, but we have hope. Never forget that our Lord cares for us.
Clutter: From the Desk of Telford Work
Regarding Gene Robinson (the newly installed gay bishop), LILEKS (James) James Lileks writes in his The Bleat "If he'd cast off his family to cavort with a woman from the choir, I'm not sure he'd be elevated to the level of moral avatar – but by some peculiar twist the fact that he left mom for a man insulates him from criticism."

Excite News - Election of Gay Bishop Prompts Walkout
I have linked stories about the new gay bishop several times over the last couple of days. I am truly saddened that this has taken place and that conservatives have felt the need to walk out. It is a sad day when a movement with a worldwide presence panders to a liberal public. It is as if the Episcopal church is saying to it's conservative members, accept homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle or you are not welcome in our fellowship anymore.

Bishop-elect cleared of allegations
I still believe it is totally inappropriate for this man to be elected a bishop. As I read elsewhere, what is next, a sado-masochist for priest?

I am totally opposed to an openly gay person holding any form of leadership in the church. It seems to me that this would be a huge step in the wrong direction for the Episcopal church. One wonders how a church could feel good about appointing a practicing homosexual to a place of such exalted leadership. I hope that many churches in America will pull out of the denomination and I also hope that the Anglican church around the world will pull back from from fellowship with the American Episopal church until they repent of their ways and end this pandering to the politically correct, "inclusive" crowd.

Ashcroft: Al-Qaida Could Strike Again (washingtonpost.com)
A troubling story about Al-Qaida. I wish we could take out OBL!
It is a beautiful Sunday. Our Liahna is spending some time in Willmar with her grandparents and will be attending VBS this week. Mom and Dad will miss her, but plan to continue packing in preparation of our move to our new house: http://www.usfamily.net/web/gv.woodard/wfo/house.htm
