February 10th 2006 Becky and I
celebrate five years together. Time has sure flown by and we’ve both grown
so much emotionally and spiritually.
Kody is doing very well; he hasn’t had shunt
problems for over a year. He walks along the couch but hasn’t tried free
standing yet. Kody turned two on September 29th. The
Bloomington school district works with him to make sure he’s following along
with other children his age. They have been very pleased with his
progress. We taught him how to sign for milk and more, he can say up, down
and two. He is our pride and joy; we couldn’t image life without him.
Grant is nine months old; he
throws us all off because he is doing things Kody couldn’t. At about two or
three weeks old Grant was rolling over and already trying to crawl. He was
grabbing for toys at about five weeks old, by the time he was two months I
think he mastered crawling. At about five months he started to try to stand
and walk. Now he can free stand at least thirty seconds and walks the
length of the couch. He also uses every day objects has his walker, an
empty box, pushes the laundry basket around in a circle. Grant is our
little “Curious George”; he is into everything and anything he can reach.
Grant keeps us very busy and on our toes. We are spoiled by Kody’s quiet
personality and ability to be content playing by himself. Grant constantly
wants attention and doesn’t want to go to bed.
Becky only works part-time
now, about fifteen hours a week. She really wants to be an at home mom but
we can’t afford it yet, at least not until I can find a better paying job.
The boys keep her running, she said she wanted excitement.
I still work full-time at the
Target warehouse; I have been there over eight years now. In October 2001,
I started to attend college for an associate degree as a Technical Support
Professional. In December 2005 I finished that degree, I only wanted a two
year degree because I knew it would take four years for me to get. Then
9/11 happened and the computer industry shifted. On January 10th,
I started a two year associate degree in business, which will take two
and a half years because classes transferred to the new degree. The sad
part is if I had hindsight I would have gone after a four year degree in the
first place. Now by the time I’m done I could have had that four year
degree.
Hope everyone has a wonderful
new year and God Bless,
Craig, Becky, Kody
and Grant
