Mir EO-23 Spacewalk 1 Tsibliyev and Linenger performed the first joint American-Russian spacewalk. They tested the new Orlan-M spacesuits, and installed the Optical Properties Monitor and a radiation dosimeter, and retrieved the Particle Impact Experiment and the Mir Sample Return Experiment for the United States.
