Josie, a second grader, has two big changes this year. The first is that
she is losing her baby teeth and getting her permanent teeth. Josie is
holding her second change: a new puppy named Chewy-Chew.
Chewy, four months old in this photo, is a Havanese female.

Before Josie started first grade, my parents and I took her to visit
family in Oklahoma during an August vacation. On the way back,
we stopped at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center in
Hutchinson, KS on August 6, 2007. In the above photo, Josie is
posing next to the restored Liberty Bell 7 Mercury capsule.
Below, Josie is getting a souvenir bag full of salt from the Kansas
Underground Salt Museum, which we toured on August 7, 2007.
The museum is located in a salt mine 650 feet under Hutchinson, KS.

Josie examines a sundial. She is getting ready to start kindergarten,
and is curious to learn new things every day. Josie named the
stuffed toy that she is holding "Ponnie". No relation to Barney!

When Josie visits my parents, she has many different dolls, stuffed
animals, and other toys to play with. The doll that she is holding has
